Following on from introductory lesson this tutorial looks in more detail at giving extra information about brothers and sisters, incorporting physical descriptions and descriptions of personality. Reading comprehension included and opportunity for written task.

Introductory lesson for Y7 French on colours.

Students are put into groups and are given the first 4 questions. They must find the answers to all four questions before they get given the next set. Works well as a running dictation style activity where the texts are stuck on the wall outside the classroom and team members take it in turns to go out and find the answers.

Grid of countries and nationalities in French and English for students to match up by color-coding the pairs. Could be adapted so students color code groups (countries and nationalities in both French and English).

Nice starter or to wrap up. Students must identify all 6 parts of the verbs AVOIR and ETRE and put them in order. Then they must sort the infinitive verbs into groups; those that are used with AVOIR and those that are used with ETRE. Takes a bit of time to prepare but once you have the resources they can be used again and again.
